So, I fell asleep in class today and I had this weird dream that Romeo and Juliet from Shakespeare's play slayed demons and stuff sorta like Devil May Cry. So I thought that maybe this could make an interesting game. But before I start working on it, (after LoaD of course) I need to know, does this idea sound good? Or should I forget the weird dream and move on to something else like...I dunno something else?

I've written a few notes down but they're very short about the game mechanics:
-Mission System (like DMC but more interactive like Phantasy Star Portable)
-XAS or Tankentai. Havnt decided on a battle system.XAS is an ABS while tankentai is tankentai. Tankentai is out for VXA now by the way for anyone who didn't know. I'm unsure how it works yet though I havnt messed with it.
-No random battles. evented like in Crisis Core or Eternal Sonata etc.

Romeo equips Sword, gloves (instead of shield), light armour and helms.
Juliet equips staves, gloves, robes and hats.

That's all. So does this sound good to you or should I scrap it?

If it sounds interesting to you I'd say go for it.

If it takes place in the same time as Romeo and Juliet I think it'd be pretty interesting, or maybe it can take place in the afterlife after the two of them are already dead.

Im actually thinking of making it take place in an abstract world where all the Shakespeares take place at one time. For example, Romeo and Juliet are the main characters, but Hamlet and Horatio make an appearance as well as some other people like Lysandar, Brutus and Puck. Im also thinking of slightly changing the ending of R+J. So, when Juliet is next to the "dead" Romeo, Romeo wakes back up before Juliet can kill herself, then Juliet suggests that they die together using some poison. Juliet drinks a "not actually poison" poison and gives Romeo the actual poison so he ends up paralyzed after which Juliet runs off. Romeo swears revenge and finds Juliet in a church. Romeo threatens her then Juliet explains that she is a Demon Hunter and cannot get Romeo involved because she doesn't want him to get hurt or killed from the demons. Romeo understands and suggests that they work together blah blah blah, kiss and make up and they're a Demon Hunting team now along with Mercutio as the "brains" if you will.

This might not make 100% sense to you, but I have it all figured out in my head, I just have trouble turning those abstract thoughts into sentences xD

No it makes sense, and I still say go for it.
Just make sure to really understand each character that makes an appearance that was part of Shakespeare's stories.

And if you throw Othello in there I'd play the hell out of it xD

Actually that sounds pretty interesting. Alot of ideas are going that way lately, like kingdom hearts and once upon a time, so i think it could work.

But tankentai? ugh...
